During June 20-27 Richard Sakuma will be visiting Taiwan on a Tea learning tour. Watch for special events about Richard's "excellent tea adventure". Tea is sampled most afternoons at our Market Stand.

The Sakuma Brothers have been growing tea for over 10 years, and are one of only two commercial tea growers in the entire
United States. More than five acres of the fertile valley have been planted in the green plants, Camellia sinensis. When the tea leaves are ready, workers hand pinch off each leaf at the stem. The leaves are heated, rolled, and dried, and it is these brittle flakes of the leaves that steeped in water and served as tea.
While the U.S. alone consumes more than 2.25 billion gallons of tea each year, most of it originates in South America, Asia, and the Middle East because the harvesting is so very labor
intensively.
The Sakuma Brothers solution is to grow a much higher quality tea for discriminating palettes to enjoy.
To make a superior tea, only the two leaves and bud at the end of each branch are used for Sakuma tea, assuring that only best tea leaves go into each package.
Sakuma White Tea, and Sakuma Green Tea. Grown in the U.S.A.
